Re: PIPO M9 Max Kit Kat 4.4 stable
If you don't want to push your CPU to 1.8 use tweak app pre installed to clock at 1.6 or below. I received a ANTUTU score of 22081. This out paces the previous 4.2.2 ROM stats of 21724. The performance seems to be much better on 4.4.2. I have to comment to turn blue tooth on it took 6 clicks for it to start. However after start no communication problems. WiFi seems to be way better.

Re: PIPO M9 Max Kit Kat 4.4 stable
Hey im about to install the rom according to your instructions...
I just want to ask, does the format NAND act as a loader for kitkat?
And, there is a 3rd kernel in the zip file, its RK31_kernel_3036_m9_pipo_2.7z inside it has a kernel.img that is different from the other two in the installation folder...
Do you know what is the difference and is it safe to install?
Thank you in advance.

Re: PIPO M9 Max Kit Kat 4.4 stable
all kernels are install safe! Default kernel is the stock 1.4, the ockernel is 1.8, the RK31_kernel_3036_m9_pipo_2.7z is the 1.6. So you have the range from stock pipo which is only 1.4, rockchip kernel that is 1.6, and my ockernel that is the max speed the rockchip will preformed safely with out over heating 1.8. I say use the ockernel and if you want to clock it down you can do so. The format NAND is a must for all newer 4.4.2 kit kat from jelly roms. Kit Kat works way different then the Jelly, which means different locations of partitions. Now the bootloader is modded from jellybean.

Re: PIPO M9 Max Kit Kat 4.4 stable
Also install the Gravity Box KK. it has some awesome features for customizing your rom and interface. If you want multi window it has a add on mod, if you want multi unlock button like direct to browser or what not it has add on for that too. Remember since the 4.4 is a tablet rom, not all app work the same. Like uverse has two apps one for tablets and one for phones. There is awesome a nice add on to make all 200 dpi's apps available in app store.

Re: PIPO M9 Max Kit Kat 4.4 stable
Strange thing is, that I installed the the normal kernel, and it did not boot, instead the screen was on and dark and the LED light next to the camera was on... No matter what I pressed nothing happened...
So somehow I managed to boot in flash mode and installed the OC kernel again to be able to boot..
Unfortunately though i got really low performance. In Antutu I got around 19 000 of which the 3D performance was 2700 only, compared to the 4400 i got with rileys 2.1ROM with the OC kernel.
I have KK on my xperia S and i have heavily modded it with Gravity Box and im really happy about it so i wanted to have it on my PIPO but unfortunately they don't get along for now :/
But thank you for your effort i will constantly check for anything new..
P.S. I would recommend you to make a thread here: http://www.freaktab.com/forumdisplay.php?132-PIPO-Tablets there are a lot more people and it will get much bigger if its all there.

Re: PIPO M9 Max Kit Kat 4.4 stable
My antutu score was much higher it was 21081 and if some extreme mods I have gotten it to 22940. however I did some adjustments and it is more stable near 21000 for me. Not all chips are equal and from chineese chips you can't always measure side by side as I have seen on other devices I have with same chip set Yea the kernel when the light comes on like that means, you have the newer board v3 to v5. You can also try the kernel from rileys 2.1 and see what you get. Of course everything is a work in progress, however I can only give a few ours a week to external activities because I have a business to run. Vitha.us my website and my company takes up 70 hours a week so not much development time.

Re: PIPO M9 Max Kit Kat 4.4 stable
you can even get to this 33126, however not stable crash's every 6 to 7 minutes. heavy heavy moded and hot. This would kill it, however a demo to show you it is all about how the kernel and rom are setup. This mali is clocked double and cpu running at 2ghz, memory is double clocked

Wow this is madness!! I think if you start releasing some mods like that, which would work on other pipos and will besafer, you will do good to many people
Good luck with ur business and thank you for your work

Re: PIPO M9 Max Kit Kat 4.4 stable
That is certainly impressive, considering the enormous difference in price between the M9 Max and the Note 3.

Yes that is true! Just imagine tho what a note 3 could do tho if it was squeezed as well.

Re: PIPO M9 Max Kit Kat 4.4 stable
I wonder how many other people have tested this rom; I have a Max M9, which I think has the V2 (new) PCB. It was new in June 2013. I might try this if others report it to be stable.

Re: PIPO M9 Max Kit Kat 4.4 stable
FYI, Oma has released build 2.2. Oma said ART is now working smoothly. I suppose one can just use the new KK build 2.2 from Oma and the rest of the files from your One zip file above?

This morning the computer finished the changes to the rom. It is updated now. It will take a hour or two to upload.

Sounds great!
What do you think of ART? Does it improve things a lot?

Re: PIPO M9 Max Kit Kat 4.4 stable
I ran some tests and made a few tweaks to the OCkernel. I see improvement but a drag on the gpu in statistics. So I changed some setting on the gpu. It seems to get a better ANTUTU score with out any tweaks. I got 22058 with out any tweaks other then the OCkernel. and stuff at 0 in devilment settings. I will have to run some more tests to see if I can get a better top end. ANTUTU stable for me with many tweaks is 23561. A lot better then the previous 22940.

Re: PIPO M9 Max Kit Kat 4.4 stable
Wow, 23.5k+ is awesome. Is that with 1.8GHz and the default (interactive) governor? I'm currently still using an old overclocked May 2013 kernel since I find this is the only kernel without the strange frame rate cap (62+ FPS on Nenamark2 while other kernels get only 55 FPS). Looking forward to your further tweaks and discovery

So that means the score would be even higher if it was set to performance

Re: PIPO M9 Max Kit Kat 4.4 stable
yes it should be! however running at 1.8 ghz all the time would not be recommended. I have noticed, not all devices are the same quality. My tablet can maintain a 1.9 ghz and no over head and runs great, however my wifes tablet does not like a bit over 1.6 ghz. at 1.7 it crash's after about a hour. So on her's the quality is not the same with same software and hardware....

Re: PIPO M9 Max Kit Kat 4.4 stable
Yes, mine luckily can maintain 1.8GHz stable. However I find that in real apps the CPU hardly ever switch to 1.8GHz, only in benchmark like Antutu does it switch. You have a really nice tab there to run at that speed

Re: PIPO M9 Max Kit Kat 4.4 stable
Yea that is true about most apps won't take the full juice up. There are tweaks so that you can make a app run at full speed. Yea lucky with this tablet. I have not been so lucky in the past tho. Chinese tablets are a real crap shoot. My Nexus 7 2013 is way more powerful, and runs way over clocked. However the lack of storage makes it a downer. My Nexus 7 older was just garbage. I have a old Zenithink 180, from 5 years ago and it still works. It only runs 2.3 android stable and 1.1 Ghz. However It makes a great camera monitor for my font door lol. Zeki tablets are just junk two dead in first year. My Galaxy tab 2 was junk too. Like I said hard to find good ones. My best yet is a jumper tablet. It runs windows 8 and android 4.4.2 x86. It is a bit heavy and battery last only 3 hours, however 1.8 ghz atom processor blazes thru most things.

Re: PIPO M9 Max Kit Kat 4.4 stable
Nice collection there. The M9 is actually my first tablet. My second one is the Galaxy Tab 3 7" (actually it's my wife's but she let me tinker with it ), which is kinda meh, but OK for the kid to play with.
Anyway, back to topic, have you tried running Nenamark2 with this build? It always puzzles me why the FPS seems capped on most M9 ROMs
