The HTC Tilt 2 uses the Windows Mobile operating system by default, but you can also load Android on the phone if you prefer this operating system or its applications. The HTC Tilt 2 Android installer works from inside the Windows Mobile operating system, so you can still use Windows Mobile if you need to switch back and forth between the two different systems.

Step 1
Insert your HTC Tilt 2's SD card in to your computer. Click "Start" and "Computer." Back up any card data that you want to save. Right-click the SD card's drive letter and click "Format."

Step 2
Click "FAT32" for the file system and click "Start.". Extract the HTC Xdandroid file to the base directory on your SD card.

Step 3
Remove the SD card from your computer and insert it into the HTC Tilt 2. Turn your Tilt 2 on. Click "Start" and "File Explorer." Click the SD card to enter the folder.

Step 4
Double-click "haret.exe" to load the Linux kernel and begin the Android installation process. Once you have launched this file, the entire process is handled by the installer so you only need to wait for the process to finish. The installer takes up to 10 minutes to reboot and finish the Android installation. Slide the lock button to unlock your phone and begin using Android. You will launch the Android operating system using the haret.exe file every time you want to switch over from Windows Mobile.
