Pipo M9 Max 10/25/2013 Rooted OC
This ROM is based on the official Pipo firmware release dated 10/25/2013
One unique feature of this ROM is the addition of an overclocked kernel
The optional kernel is named ockernel.img in the ROM folder, you can flash it by clicking the browse box next to the kernel line in the flash tool and highlight the ockernel.img file.
If you want to switch kernels back and forth, you can without having to re-flash the whole ROM by unchecking everything but the kernel in the flash tool....and don't erase IDB before flashing. This overclocked kernel has been tested by a few users and runs quite well and makes a huge difference in speed, however there is a certain amount of risk associated with overclocking (much less flashing a custom ROM in the first place)...so think about the consequences...such as increased battery drain and overheating and death (of your tablet, not you). (I know, it sounds like a drug commercial...but I gotta say it...hahahaha!!!!)
I do recommend that you flash the whole ROM the first time and do erase IDB when you do so.
For OLD PCB M9 users, will try to port this new ROM as I get time...
This ROM is:
Rooted
Debloated to the max
Init.d Support
English Default
Busybox commands added
CWM Recovery as an option
Multi-User support added
4, 8 or 12gb user app space as an option.
PIPO M9 Max V3 Download
also ported the system of this ROM for the OLD PCB tablets. It still has the same old kernel, but there may be some improvement. Just compare and see.

Please remove all pins or locks from lock screen before flashing. Also remove ext-sd card, and if you use CWM need to format and remount internal SD

If you downloaded the rom from vitha.forumotion.com you then would be on V3 New. 1.9a old was not posted here. So that you know if you flash new over old it would still work, just wifi and Bluetooth would not work right. you could at that point flash old over that. User data will remain the same so no worries on that either. Just to know most people have V3 not V1. If bought tablet after march 15 then you have V3.

Yes, I get my rom 1.9a from vitha.forumotion.com.
I tried to flush PIPO M9 Max V3 today, but after flush is finished, my tablet is blocked in the welcome screen ( when loading start up) and also I can’t shut down it. I need to push reset button to shut down.
I’m re-installing the 1.9a rom to unlock it. Have you any idea to resolve this problem.

Did you install basic recovery or did you install cwm recovery? If you installed either, you could always do full wipe rest. Did you have a code that is blocking you from unlocking or is it touch not working? Also make sure to do the Erase IDB when flashing newer roms.

I also should state that people remove there ext-sd when flashing. If using CWM you must remount and format the internal SD like on all previous CWM installs on PIPO M9. The CWM is touch and you use power button to select. Before flashing newer rom remove any unlock codes or pins to access you data, it will not always unlock after new flash.

Think you, I install it successfully but it’s very instable.
I can’t create a second user, I can’t reboot on the recovery mode and the wifi is not working very well.

Re: Pipo M9 Max 10/25/2013 Rooted OC
Ok thanks for the update. Are you using ockernel or stock? are you using stock or cmw recovery? I am not happy that it is so unstable for you! I used Cwm with OCkernel and mine runs very stable and I have 3 users. I did have to flash mine twice because first boot did not work right. Now mine on second boot I went in to cwm and cleared all by wiping cache, dalvik , with data wipe. It seemed to work great after that. Your M9 nan may have fragments on it which causing problems or your m9 just don't like this rom. There has not been enough installs yet to pin point yet. keep the update.

I use stock, I think that the flush that I make is not Ok. I will try to re-flash with ockernel and I tell you if it's more stable.
For information, my tablet is very stable with your rom 1.9 and 1.9a

Re: Pipo M9 Max 10/25/2013 Rooted OC
Hi vitha,
Thanks for help,
I have installed the rom successfully last night. cmw recovery, kernel and all wipe. It’s very stable now (wifi, users, multi-windows….)
The only thing that I don’t understand is that the second users created can’t have wallpapers on his background. His background is black.

My support for Pipo is done now. I can answer question but that is extent. My tablet this morning nan flash locked up and will not work anymore. it is stuck in maskmode that it put it's self in too. Remember people the new 4.4 from Pipo max m9 that's pipo released is only good for the newest M9 max not talking pro. these reason for that is newer tablet has 2 nan chips not one like the newer ones
