Downgrade iPhone 3G iPad Baseband
All Whited00r users with an iPhone 3G who upgraded to the iPad 06.15.00 baseband can downgrade back to a regular iPhone baseband.
In this short guide you will learn how to downgrade your baseband from 06.15.00 to 05.13.04 with a lot of benefits:
- GPS will work fine
- Solve the problem of battery drain
- Better signal
- If you don’t want to use Whited00r, you will be able to restore to a stock .ipsw

This process is risky. Be careful. We assume no responsibility.
Please Backup your data before continue.

1. Download iOS 4.2.1 firmware for iPhone 3G.

2. Create a custom firmware
Use Sn0wbreeze (if you are on Windows) or PwnageTool (if you are on MacOS). Download links are provided here.
This step is necessary since you should know that iPhone 3G with iPad baseband can’t be restored directly via iTunes with an Apple stock firmware.

Sn0wBreeze Download for Windows

PwnageTool Download for MacOS

When Sn0wbreeze ask for the firmware (ipsw) to flash, select the one you downloaded in step 1.

3. Restore your iPhone 3G to iOS4
Use the custom firmware you created before to restore your iPhone 3G. Put the device in DFU (see how) mode [read the bottom of this guide if you have broken hardware buttons] to load the firmware from iTunes with SHIFT/ALT + Restore. After installation (could take up to 15 minutes) iTunes will ask you if you want to restore from a backup: choose “Set up a new iPhone/iPod”

Now your iPhone 3G is running iOS4.2.1 with the iPad baseband 06.15.00 (since both PwnageTool and Sn0wbreeze preserve the basaband).

4. Download Redsn0w
You need Redsn0w 0.9.14b2 (or following)

Redsn0w for Windows

Redsn0w for MacOS

5. Use Redsn0w…
Open Redsn0w and select “Extras” then “Select IPSW”. Select the Stock iOS 4.2.1 firmware you downloaded in the step 1 (not the custom firmware you created later).

6. Set up the downgrade process
Do a controlled shutdown of your iPhone (“slide to power off”). This step is very important to avoid mount problems when the ramdisk is running!

On Redsn0w click “back” and you will see the same windows you had in step 4. This time click on “Jailbreak”.
Enable “install Cydia” and “DOWNGRADE TO IPAD BASEBAND” checkboxes.
Click “next” and “next” to proceed through the normal DFU steps [read the bottom of this guide if you have broken hardware buttons].

7. Flash the Baseband
Now DON’T TOUCH NOTHING for minutes. THE PROCESS TAKE ABOUT 10 MINUTES!!

8. Check your baseband
After flashing baseband you can check the baseband in Settings, General, Info, Firmware Modem.

9. Install Whited00r
If the 05.13.04 baseband has been correctly flashed, you can install you custom rom.
You must use the Unlocked version of firmware. You need Ultrasn0w to unlock your downgraded baseband.
